Mistequa Casino Hotel
Pronounced: Mist-a-quah
Chewelah Casino is retiring its name and rebranding itself to align with our exciting new hotel. We are proud to introduce you to Mistequa Casino Hotel, located on the ancestral lands of the Spokane Tribe. Many tribal families lived throughout this beautiful valley, including Mistequa and his wife. Mistequa bravely defended his homestead from settlers, which led to this property remaining with the Spokane Tribe.
Mistequa secured not only this land, but also the roots of a rich history in the Chewelah Valley. Therefore, it’s appropriate to name this property and its thriving enterprises as Mistequa Casino Hotel. The strength and determination of Mistequa will inspire success here at Mistequa Casino Hotel.

The new logo has its own story that we are excited to share. The blue within the logo represents water. Water has always been an important and sacred resource to the Spokane Tribe. The Sienna Brown color represents the land and beautiful environment of the Spokane Tribe’s ancestral lands. The circle within the logo represents the Sun for Children of the Sun. The shapes surrounding the sun are sun rays using a design element from the mural within the Casino. The triangle between the words Casino Hotel represents the Chewelah Band of the Spokane Tribe. The Spokane Tribe is made up of four bands including the Chewelah Band, Upper, Middle, and Lower Bands of tribal families and lands.
